Big day for us.
Today we tested the ovens in our new facility for the first time, and the first run was a genuine success.
The automated loader ran smoothly. The ovens performed exactly how we’d hoped. And the bread? Fantastic.
What makes it even better is that the dough travelled across from our Grey Lynn site before baking. To see it come out with great colour, spring and crust on day one gives us a lot of confidence about what’s ahead.
Most importantly, our bakers got a huge amount out of it. New equipment always comes with a learning curve, but today felt like momentum.
Still plenty to refine, but this was a very good start.
How do you put together an oven? Simple... One piece at a time (with a forklift!).
These ovens are the last piece of the puzzle that is our new facility.
