At Bread & Butter, our mission is simple:
Make real bread a part of daily life.
Most bread is either cheap and overprocessed or well-made and overpriced. We offer a third option.
We make our bread slowly, with simple ingredients, and price it so it can sit on the table every day.

The Bread Project
Through The Bread Project, a fixed portion of our daily production is baked specifically for donation.
Each year, this adds up to more than 220,000 freshly baked sourdough loaves and packs of buns, distributed through Auckland City Mission and the New Zealand Food Network to communities across the North Island.
This is not surplus or leftovers.
It’s the same bread we sell to cafés and supermarkets, and the same bread we feed our own families.
