A Simple Idea.

Bread&Butter was born in 2012 with a simple idea.

Good bread should be available and enjoyed by everyone.

What started as a single bakery in the heart of Ellerslie grew into something special. Bread & Butters founder Isabel Pach turned an idea into a loyal following, a string of cafes and stores, and a solid reputation for artisan-quality European breads and pastries across Auckland.

For over a decade, Bread & Butter stood for craft, care, and bread that was worth every cent. Isa cemented the name Bread & Butter among the best

Like many great businesses, however, COVID-19 brought an unexpected chapter. But the reputation, the recipes, and the passion for proper bread? Those never went anywhere.

Same Soul. Bigger Ambitions

In 2024, childhood friends Simon and Aidan reconnected with a shared purpose: to take the reins of Bread & Butter and help write its next chapter.

Their vision was simple but quietly radical:

Make artisan-quality food and make it genuinely affordable.

Not as a compromise, but as a commitment.

To back that vision with action, Simon and Aidan have made substantial investments into Bread & Butter's future, including a new purpose-built, state-of-the-art facility and a relentless focus on bringing every product in the range to world-class standards.

The awards have followed. So have the customers. Bread & Butter is proving, one bake at a time, that quality and price don't have to be mutually exclusive.

What hasn't changed is the promise at the heart of everything: quality, consistency, and fair pricing as the bedrock of every decision we make.

Isa's legacy, fourteen years in the making, has a very bright future.
